October Month in Review / November Preview

This month will be all sorts of fun. I've been threatening to go on a Reading Ban since September, and there's been a wave of stuff I've had to read first. Well, yesterday I finished the last book. I have no required reading until a double review is due December 19th. I can finally sit back, relax, and write.

The fact that NaNoWriMo happens in November is a coincidence. I thought I'd be writing before this. But since I haven't been, well, what better way to begin? I'm not going to write just to get to 50k, though. I'm going to write as I can, and as I need to. I will not fret and stress about hitting a word goal, only about getting this idea out of my head and onto paper.

Since I'm starting in a new world (heck, I'm still playing with character names, which I usually *know!*), I need to concentrate on my characters. I can't have anyone else's living in my head until I have a firm foundation on who mine are. So, sorry, books, but buh-bye for now!!

I am officially DONE for now. Unless I get super-blocked. Or am able to to build my world and characters enough that I can have even more people living in my head. In which case I would read a similar genre to what I'm writing to stay in that mood. AKA contemporary. (Because we all know how nasty and whiny I get when I start reading my favorite genre, fantasy, while writing my not-favorite genre, contemporary! LOL!)
