Cover Art Revealed: DARK TRIUMPH by Robin LaFevers

(Sorry; I overslept this morning, so I have time to write and schedule this, but not a review for Mythological Mondays, so that will have to wait.  Sorry to tease you with a promise and snatch it away!)

I was so excited when the cover for DARK TRIUMPH was revealed last week.  I've been looking forward to reading this because GRAVE MERCY was so good.  I can't wait to read Sybella's story!

Sybella looks FIERCE, doesn't she?  That's one of the things all of these covers have going for them.  It's interesting to see that the new book has an illustrated cover, while the first used a model.  At the same time, this gives it more of a traditional fantasy cover feel, too.  Both covers look great, and feature weapons and period clothing, making them intriguing to look at.  I love the new tagline: "Vengeance is Divine."

Oh, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!

DARK TRIUMPH by Robin LaFevers

SUMMARY:

Sybella arrives at the convent’s doorstep half mad with grief and despair. Those that serve Death are only too happy to offer her refuge—but at a price. Naturally skilled in both the arts of death and seduction, the convent views Sybella as one of their most dangerous weapons.

But those assassin’s skills are little comfort when the convent returns her to a life that nearly drove her mad. Her father’s rage and brutality are terrifying, and her brother’s love is equally monstrous. And while Sybella is a weapon of justice wrought by the god of Death himself, He must give her a reason to live. When she discovers an unexpected ally imprisoned in the dungeons, will a daughter of Death find something other than vengeance to live for?

This heart-pounding sequel to GRAVE MERCY serves betrayal, treachery, and danger in equal measure, bringing readers back to fifteenth century Brittany and will keep them on the edge of their seat.

What are your thoughts on the cover?  Are you as excited as I am?
